What actions could you (in theory) undertake that would improve the 'sustainability' of your lifestyle? What might be preventing you from doing these?
What is sustainability?
Sustainability can be define as using, developing and protecting resources at a rate and in a manner that enables people to meet their current needs and also provides that future generations can meet their own needs.
It can also be seen as something that keeps, last longer and held on to..
There are ways that I could be more sustainable in my lifestyle:I could be more energy efficient by turning all electrical gadjets from the suckets rather than leaving it on stand by which i do anyway, turn the heating down by just one degree or put it off completely if possible and it would save me money and reduce climate change. Also i could buy low energy products i.e light bulbs and fridges, or just remember to turn off the light when I leave a room. Cultivate a culture of segregating and reclying waste
Also need to watch and manage how I spend my resources (money) on things that are not necessarily needed in my house, most especially on food and clothes. Since I do alot of shopping especially on offers like “buy one get one free! (bogof) and i end up wasting them.
What could possibly prevent me from doing these are:
· Apathy
· Lazziness
· Lack of motivation to change
· Ignorance of environment benefits/lack of environmental awarenessI can further improve the sustainability of my current lifestyle by raising my academic level of education to command better salaried employment
